The ceramics of the Amalfi Coast are among the most important and renowned in the world.
The Ceramics in our Art Gallery are exclusively crafted for us by the most famous Artists of the Amalfi Coast.
The little donkey \u2014 often called “Ciuccio” or “Ciucciariello” in the local dialect \u2014 is our good luck charm. These ceramics have been gifted by our clients to the powerful of the Earth and are in the most important homes and collections around the world. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

From the Restaurant to the Art Gallery<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The La Caravella Art Gallery project was born in 2009, on the occasion of the first 50 years of the La Caravella restaurant. <\/p>

Ceramics have always been present in the restaurant. Initially, they were limited to small flower holders placed on the tables. Over time, we noticed that many customers were intrigued by these objects. They often asked if they were for sale. The curiosity of the customers stimulated an increasingly intense collaboration with the Master ceramists of the Coast. Over time, the quantity of ceramics purchased filled every available space. Opening an art gallery next to the restaurant and the cellar became an almost obligatory choice. <\/p>

Today, the collaboration with the Master ceramists is increasingly close and exclusive. The ceramics displayed in the La Caravella Art Gallery constitute a brand with unique characteristics and are a reference for the many artisan workshops on the Coast. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Our Art Gallery is located in a warm and welcoming environment just a few steps from the Cathedral, in one of the most characteristic and ancient alleys of the City, which was once “The first Maritime Republic”, and is today a true treasure chest of History and Art. The alley is named after the famous revolutionary Masaniello and is adjacent to Piazza Duomo, in a side street of Piazza dei Dogi, where the Palace of the Dukes Piccolomini can still be seen. <\/p>

We are aware that it is difficult to appreciate the beauty of our ceramics through a photo: the colors, the shapes, the attention to detail. Ceramics need to be touched, seen up close, “experienced” in a relationship of physical sensitivity. <\/span>Only in this way can one appreciate the details and the play of colors that no photographer, no matter how skilled, nor technology, no matter how sophisticated, can reproduce, to provide this tactile pleasure. Our Gallery must be visited and above all “experienced”. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
